Let me start by saying, I couldn't get past the 2nd episode so feel free to dismiss my opinion but I am also the person to force myself to finish something I'm not enjoying for the sake of completing it.
The primary takeaway I got from what I watched was it felt like an anti-drug propoganda piece more than anything. Like Reefer Madness, but cranked up to 11 in terms of insanity and not in a good way. Honestly, if you told me DARE took some part in helping to create this, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

An anime doesn't have to follow its source material to the T in order for it to be good, however, this one kind of missed the mark. I have not read the manga, so I can't speak for what changed, just a heads up.
The biggest thing for me that changed the show between the seasons is pretty much a change in genres. In season 1, it's very much psychological thriller, isolationist horror- escape or get harvested, but in this season it becomes more of an adventure type vibe with a world saving complex; very different tonal shifts (think you're escaping a murderer in your home ... |
